The story from "The Book of One Thousand and One Nights" is about a greedy magician who is searching for the famous wonderlamp.
Inside the lamp there lives a genie who is able make all wishes come true. But not everybody can find the lamp – only an innocent and kindhearted boy like Aladdin.
To gain Aladdin’s trust the magician pretends to be his long lost uncle. On a magic carpet they fly to the cave where the wonderlamp is hidden.
Aladdin cannot find the wonderlamp right away, so the magician leaves him alone: only if Aladdin finds the wonderlamp he will be freed. But finally Aladdin’s best friend Koko, a parrot, rescues him.
On their way home they meet a beautiful princess called Jasmin. The princess and Aladdin fall in love and want to get married - but her father, the powerful sultan, does not want a poor boy to marry his daughter. But with the help of genie's wonderlamp Jasmin and Aladdin can get married in the end.
