Synopsis
Through the adventures of the Family La Musica and well known compositions the main components of music (melody, harmony, beat,...) are explained to children.
A suitable extract of a composition is the basis for the plot.
This means that the musical structure of the plot equals the dramatical structure.
Musical terms appear as allegorical characters like Father Doremi, Mother Fasola, Uncle Beat, Aunt Harmony, Cousin Melody, Cousin Rhythm,...
The aim is to interest children in various styles of music and to show that all music is based on the same elements. To compose a piece of music is not only about intuition but also about craftsmanship.
Under the guidance of a music teacher the children can practice what they have heard and seen after the performance.
